Grow Your Own

It's official! I am officially the proud owner of an herb garden. I'm starting off slow with cilantro, basil and oregano. I am comitted to grow tomatoes and maybe lettuce as well though. It's fun and how great will it be to be able to pick my own herbs and produce?! :)

I challenge all of you to grown one of your own items. Whether you pick an herb to spice up your healthy food or one produce plant. Let's start taking what we eat back into our own hands!

Oh the Holiday Season is Upon Us!

The tree is up and decorated ~ check.
Candles scented of pine are scattered strategically around the house ~ check.
Other holiday decor is up ~ check.
Stockings are hung ~ check.

All of those things sure make the holiday season feel merry and warm!

But what about these to do's? Ask yourself these questions...

I am staying fully hydrated ~ yes or no

I have kept my portion control in check ~ yes or no

I have stayed away from the holiday baked goods ~ yes or no

I have kept my alcohol intake to a minimum ~ yes or no

I have gotten in my daily workouts ~ yes or no

It Takes Hard Work

I have experienced many people lately who want weight loss NOW! Guess what! It doesn't happen like that! I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the reality is that weight loss is hard work and it takes consistency, dedication and some good old fashioned elbow grease. If the weight isn't coming off, ask yourself these questions...

1. Am I drinking enough water?
2. Am I REALLY working as hard as I think I am?
3. Are my meals truly the size and portion amount that I need?
4. Have I added extra calories in here and there that may be contributing to not losing?
5. Is the number on the scale the most important thing or will I judge my success by an article of clothing?
6. Am I being to easy on myself?
7. Am I being to hard on myself?
8. Am I taking RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY OWN ACTIONS?
