Fitness Spa Advice: When You're Workout Isn't Working

Fitness Spa Advice: When Your Workout
Isn't Working Anymore

There comes a time in each fitness routine when you kind of know it’s not working anymore. It’s like the relationship you don’t want to break up. You’re perfectly happy with the routine, comfortable and not looking forward to change. Sound familiar? It’s important to change up your workout regimen from time to time. This is especially important if you’re wanting to see results in terms of weight loss, strength gains and or change in your body tone. Not only will changing things up keep you interested mentally but your muscles will be interested too. They’ll be interested in the form of “muscle confusion” meaning your body will continue to change. Here are 3 signs that your workout isn’t working anymore:
1. You’re Not Challenged – If you’re not getting your heart rate up, feeling taxed or challenged by the workout, it’s time for a switch. You must have a certain level of intensity in order to continue to change. If it’s easy, peasy then most likely you aren’t getting the benefits you really need to get out of your routine.
2. You’re Not Seeing Results – Hello! Why are you putting all of this work into working out if you aren’t going to get results, right? If you’re not changing, it’s time to change it up. Try a new DVD, go to a new class to get ideas or make an appointment with a trainer to see how you can get the most out of your fitness program and get some results!
3. You’re Bored – It’s NEVER a good sign when you’re bored with your workout. Chances are if you’re bored, you’re not putting 100% into it which means you’re not getting 100% out of it. Unfortunately, your boring workout routine is causing you to waste time and not get the results you’re looking for.
If you’re putting the time and effort into getting results, nothing can be more frustrating than not seeing results. Make sure you’re getting what you need to out of your workout. Your precious time and energy should be spent as efficiently as possible. Be honest with yourself – if it’s time to make a change you need to do it now!

Fitness Spa - The New Generation of Fitness Retreats

Fitness Spa & Weight Loss Camp
Vita Vie Retreat
As the fitness and travel industry evolve, so does the terminology for programs, classes and services. The term, fitness spa, has made it’s way into mainstream fitness and spa travel as a way to describe a very healthy, active retreat, getaway or vacation. You’ll detox in a whole different way at a fitness spa. Geared at rejuvenating your body through fitness, this fitness or weight loss spa incorporates many different fitness disciplines as well as mind body disciplines. The detox comes from the body’s natural release of toxins, not through the use of products or supplements. Much like Vita Vie Retreat’s programs, the fitness spa incorporates invigorating fitness such as boot camps, sports performance, cardio boxing and dance as well as stretching classes, pilates mat and yoga.

Vita Vie Retreat’s programs offer a unique, individualized aspect to each program. Our private retreats and Live & Learn retreat both include private one on one sessions and guidance. While Bella Boot Camp is a group retreat, only 12 people are in each group each week. This ensures a more intimate, small group setting. We’re keeping up with the trends of the fitness spa and making sure our guests get very well rounded programs that will help them establish healthy habits and a lifestyle that includes fitness, healthy nutrition and stress reduction. Our goal is to give our clients the tools to go home and transform their lifestyle into one that is easily manageable.

Weight Loss Camp - Our Philosophy on Weight Loss & A Healthy Lifestyle

Weight Loss Camp - Vita Vie Retreat

We receive phone calls daily regarding our weight loss camps and fitness retreat programs. One of the most popular questions our potential clients ask is, “Why or how is your program different?” To be honest, I really can’t speak intelligently in terms of a compare/contrast to other programs because I don’t truly know how they work. I’ve not experienced many other programs so to tell someone why or how ours is different isn’t a conversation I like to engage in from that respect. What I like to focus on is what I can tell you about our program that will help you make an educated decision as to whether or not one of our programs will work for you. I’ve listed some of the key points below.

1. We Focus on the Individual – Each individual person is different. Each person responds differently to different health and fitness regimens. Our main focus is to make sure each individual gets the attention they need. The reason why we limit our Bella Boot Camp program is to make sure that it is a personal, intimate group setting where our participants can ask questions and get answers. Our private fitness retreats consist of all one on one training, creating a unique retreat experience for each individual. The point is that we care about the individual and want each person to get what they need out of their retreat experience so that they can continue to see results at home.

2. Our Nutrition Guidance is Not for the Masses – Beware of cookie cutter programs! A program that preaches 1200 or 1400 calories for all cannot work for all! Again, each person is different meaning each person needs their nutrition tweaked to meet their needs. It’s not fair to give a 400 lb person the same 1400 calorie diet that you are feeding to a 150 lb person. They will starve! Based on calories in vs. calories out, our nutrition is adaptable to people of all ages and sizes. We are teaching lifestyle so it is extremely important to us that each person begin a healthy nutrition regimen that is more specific to them while at the retreat. This makes the transition to home life even easier. Our nutrition menus are about choice and learning how to choose what works for you and what fits into your calorie allowance for the day.

3. Rapid Weight Loss Doesn’t Produce Long Term Weight Loss – Promising that someone will lose 10, 20 or 30 lbs in a week can not only be misleading but is also unsafe. The slower the body changes, the better chance you have at maintaining any weight loss. Rapid weight loss leads to rapid weight gain and the reality is that most people gain more weight than they lost. 2 lbs is a safe weight loss to maintain week by week. Of course in the first week, many people will lose more like 4 – 7 lbs but drastic weight loss week in week out isn’t healthy for your body.

4. Lifestyle, Lifestyle, Lifestyle – The most important factor is lifestyle. We want you to adopt a healthy eating and fitness regimen that you can keep up with. DO NOT FOCUS ON SHORT TERM RESULTS! Focus on long term health and wellness. Also, throw the word, “diet”, out of your vocabulary. No diet will get you to where you want to be. You can not simply adopt a diet and then once you’ve reached your goal, return to your previous eating habits. You’ll need to adopt a new healthy lifestyle, one that allows you choices and way to maintain your new healthy body.
