Bored of Your Routine?

Many people simply get bored with their regular fitness routine. Going to the gym, hitting the yoga studio or running on the nearest running path are all great ways to get your workout in but sometimes it's nice to switch it up. With the Vita Vie Retreat summer break coming up, I intend to try a few new things. I'll be hanging out in the Florida Keys for much of the time so here's what's in store for me...

1. Kayak Eco Tour
2. Paddle Surfing
3. Fly Fishing
4. Snorkeling (yes, I have snorkeled before but hoping to try a new spot!)
5. Jet Ski Tour

You may not be going on vacation any time soon and many of these activities are not available to everyone. Here are a few ideas for non-beach terrain.

1. Kayaking or Rafting at Your Local River or Lake
2. Mud Run
3. Cross Country Running
4. Outdoor Bike Tour
5. Climbing Wall
6. Sky Dive Simulator (not the real thing! scary!)
7. Try Tennis or Raquetball
8. If you must go to the gym, try a class you've never tried before!
9. Take a Dance Class
10. Roller Skate or Ice Skate

Take your workout to new heights and try something completely new. Get out of your comfort zone and challenge your body in a different way. This can help keep fitness interesting.

WEEKLY CHALLENGE :: Pamper Yourself!

I know you're probably thinking, what??? It's true -- this week's challenge is about taking care of your body and your mind. We work so hard all year round and it's often easy to forget that we also need to be caring for our bodies in a less intensive way. That said, here's your weekly challenge...

Pamper yourself at least three (3!) times this week!!! You've worked hard and it's time to treat your body right. Whether you meditate, take an hour for a full body stretch, go to yoga, get a massage, have a rejuvenating facial or take a trip to the day spa for a mani/pedi -- it's time to take care of your body and your mind. You deserve it!

Summer Break!

Vita Vie Retreat will be on summer break from August 20 - September 19, 2010. We will reopen for retreats on September 20.

During this time we will be relaxing and rejuvenating as well as implementing new programs and classes in both locations.
