Thanksgiving Day Strategy

The holidays typically bring lots of great food, drink, friends and family. Oh how I love the holidays! They also tend to bring overindulgence of all things food and drink. So let's address Thanksgiving Day strategy as we're facing this wonderful day this week. Here are a few of my tips for keeping your eating in check. I've also listed a great link to an article on how to save 1 lb (3500 calories) on Thanksgiving Day!

1. Drink plenty of water
2. Limit your alcohol intake
3. Portion out your food
4. Have dessert!!! (yep! this is one day that you can allow yourself a treat!)
5. Limit your appetizers or pre dinner food
6. Get your workout in - even though it's Thanksgiving

Good luck! Have a holiday strategy? Share with us!

Get Active This Weekend

That's right! I just told you to get active this weekend. Let's all take at least an hour and get out of the house and into the fresh air. Take your workout out of the gym this weekend and take a hike, go skiing, head to the beach or take that run in the brisk air.

Challenge your body, change up your routine and diversify your workout. It's always a good idea to keep throwing new workouts into the mix to keep your body guessing. Good luck!

No TV Week is OVER and done with!

I was so busy with No TV Week that I couldn't even finish blogging about it. Ok, that's not really true. I was really just busy with the retreat and all of our fantastic clients!

Anyway, No TV Week has been over with for a while and I'm both sad and glad it is over. I kind of enjoyed nights of quiet and getting out of the house for a late night walk, etc. I was definitely more creative with my time during that week. I sought out fun things to do and visited sights I'd never seen in my own town. On the flip side, I was missing some of my shows. That means I'm an addict! Uggg, what's a girl to do. I love my Biggest Loser and Dancing With the Stars. :) I'm now just trying to find balance. A little TV mixed with some quiet evenings seems to be the right blend. Now to keep that up!
